Exhibition · Chelmsford

Small, quietly done and worth the detour: this is a community-curated show, put together with Roots Chelmsford, telling the story of the Caribbean Windrush generation who came to work at Chelmsford employers like Marconi and RHP and reshaped the town in the process. It's local history told through family testimony rather than museum-board text, which is what makes it land.
At £4 to get in, this is an easy midweek or rainy-afternoon add-on if you're already in Chelmsford — pair it with a wander round Oaklands Park, which the museum sits inside. Closes 1 September, so don't leave it too late.
