Exhibition · Newcastle

The Pre-Raphaelites are usually shown as painters first, but this exhibition takes their poetry just as seriously — pairing the big names (Rossetti, Millais, Holman Hunt, Burne-Jones) with the women often left out of the story, including Elizabeth Siddall, Kate Bunce and photographer Julia Margaret Cameron. It's the first show to dig properly into how the movement's art and writing fed each other.
The Laing is fully accessible — lift and level access throughout, self-propelling wheelchairs available on request, disabled parking bays by the gallery entrance. Free general admission to the building; a charge applies for this exhibition, with concessions on offer.
