Exhibition · Chichester

This is a proper survey show — more than sixty artists across two centuries, all wrestling with what the British landscape actually means beyond the postcard view. Expect quietly radical takes on coastline, moorland and field from names spanning the 18th to the 20th century, hung in one of the country's best small galleries.
Chichester makes an easy day of it either way — pair the show with lunch in the Pallant garden café and a wander round the cathedral close, and you've got a properly cultured, unhurried outing that doesn't need London.
