Orchard Month at Killerton

Killerton's heritage orchards — 58 acres of them, over 98 apple varieties, two found nowhere else — get their moment for three-and-a-bit autumn weeks, with a harvest trail and a 200-year-old cider press creaking back into action. Rangers run apple-pressing demonstrations on Saturdays (4, 11, 17 & 25 October), plus a bookable guided orchard walk on the 16th and 17th.

Dogs on leads are welcome throughout the garden and park, and the trail is gentle enough for younger legs — a proper unhurried autumn wander with a good chance of a free taste of cider along the way.
