Turner Prize 2026

The Turner Prize rarely travels this far north, so MIMA hosting the full 2026 edition is a genuine coup for Teesside — new work from shortlisted artists Simeon Barclay, Kira Freije, Marguerite Humeau and Tanoa Sasraku fills the galleries from late September, free to wander at your own pace.

Good for teens and up: there's plenty here worth arguing about over lunch afterwards, and the winner isn't announced until 10 December, so there's months to catch it before the crowds build.
