Family · Lincoln

A handful of times a year, Lincoln Castle drops its no-dogs rule and lets leads-on visitors bring their dog right round the grounds, up the medieval Wall Walk and through the Victorian Prison — normally off-limits to anything with four legs. Staff keep a bowl of water and the odd treat on hand, and the café will happily sort your dog a little something too.
Worth combining with a wander down to the Cathedral afterwards, since the castle grounds themselves are free to enter any day — it's the buildings that need this specific date to bring the dog along.
