Not a fireworks-in-a-field night: seven bonfire societies march in costume through the town, with the main procession around 9pm and the bonfire lit around 10pm. It's atmospheric, loud and crowded.
Roads close and parking is scarce, so go by train and wrap up warm. Not ideal for very young children.
