Recently named Best Small Outdoor Market at the Great British Market Awards, this is Cumbria's proper farmers' market — fruit and veg pulled that morning, artisan cheeses, homemade preserves and fresh-baked bread from producers who'll happily talk you through it.
It runs on the second and last Friday of the month, an easy, low-key stop-off before or after a Lake District walk. Dogs are a common sight browsing the stalls alongside their owners.
