Heritage Open Day at Clumber Park

Clumber Park's 3,800 acres of parkland, heath, lakeside and woodland are always worth the trip, but Heritage Open Days is the day to go if you want more than a stroll — National Trust volunteers are on hand throughout to talk you through the history of the old Dukes of Newcastle estate, from the vanished great house to the famous double lime avenue.

It's flat, wide-pathed and genuinely dog-friendly across most of the park, making it an easy one for families, older visitors and anyone pushing a buggy or wheelchair. Free entry for the day means it's also one of the better-value ways to see a place that normally charges for parking and access.
