Hastings Makers Market

The Yard is a proper independent-makers scene rather than a mass-produced trinket market — expect close to 50 stalls of ceramics, prints, jewellery and textiles from Hastings and Sussex-based makers, plus open studios to poke around in. It's an easy, unhurried few hours whether you're hunting a specific gift or just like watching people work.

Step-free and wheelchair accessible throughout, and small enough to strike up conversation with the stallholders themselves — most of what's on the tables was made a few streets away.
