Guildford Farmers' Market

Guildford's cobbled High Street fills with more than fifty stalls of Surrey-grown veg, artisan cheese, fresh bread and local meat, running 10am–3pm on the first Tuesday of the month.

It's the kind of unhurried, chatty market where you actually talk to the person who grew or made what you're buying — a proper antidote to supermarket shopping, and a nice excuse for a stroll round town afterwards.
