The Great British Beach Clean is the Marine Conservation Society's big annual citizen-science weekend, and this Minnis Bay session is a proper hands-on version: a short walk to the start point, then two hours picking litter and logging what you find to feed real marine-pollution data. Gloves, pickers and forms are all provided — you just turn up.
It's an easy way to actually do something rather than just read about ocean plastic, and it's genuinely sociable — quiet dogs on leads are welcome, kids come along with an adult, and nobody needs experience. Good for meeting like-minded people along a stretch of the Kent coast most visitors never see properly.
