Diwali Village, Leicester

One of the largest Diwali celebrations outside India takes over Leicester's famous Golden Mile — rangoli displays, the Wheel of Light, and street food stalls running from mid-afternoon into the evening. It lands two weeks after the lights switch-on and just before Diwali and Lakshmi Puja themselves.

Free, outdoors, and genuinely a whole-community event rather than a ticketed spectacle — turn up any time from 3pm and follow the crowd.
