Bring a mystery apple from your own garden and the East of England Apples and Orchards Project experts will identify it on the spot — one of those lovely, slightly niche traditions that makes Apple Day more than just a fruit stall. Over 25 heritage varieties are out to taste and buy, alongside food trucks and live entertainment through the garden.
The Botanic Garden itself is reason enough to go — 40 acres of autumn colour at its best in mid-October, so leave time to walk it off after all that apple tasting.
